Barangay is a Filipino word meaning small village or community. Ask any Filipino for more information
Our tropical decorated guesthouse is located in a typical Amsterdam canal house built in 1777 on the former coastline of Amsterdam. The house has still her original facade with a gable stone of an island with 3 palm trees. We welcomed our first guests in August of 1999.
We give each guest a warm welcome, a uniquely decorated room and of course our world famous breakfasts!
THE AREA
Location wise this is one of the best areas to explore Amsterdam and beyond.
Literally, most tourist attractions are just around the corner, within walking distance!
The area named “The Golden Reaal” is right in the old centre 200 meters south-west from the Central Station. Our quiet street Droogbak connects 2 major canals, the Singel and the Prinsengracht. Parallel with the Droogbak is the longest shopping street of the Netherlands. A section of this street is named Haarlemmerstraat/dijk, a former sea dike, but now you find good restaurants, specialty- and local shops, coffeeshops, cafe's, gallaries, hair saloons, laundromats, a famous art-deco cinema and a lot more. The Brouwersgracht one of the most beautiful canals connecting the four main canals is just one street behind it.
Barangay B&B is next to the famous Jordaan quarter where you can also find Anne Frank's house and markets on Saturday and Mondays.
All rooms are non-smoking and decorated in tropical style.
They have cable tv, fridge, radio alarm, hair dryer and coffee/tea making facilities.
Upstairs there is a computer with fast internet connection available for free and for those with Laptops, notebooks and other wireless-capable gadgets, we offer a free (Wifi) connection.
On request, we offer a mobile phone and DVD player for a small surcharge.
You get your own keys and there is no curfew.
Your welcome to check-in from 09.00 til 23.30 hours. Check-out is 11.30 hours
