As we near closer to the New Zealand Rugby World Cup 2011, we can’t help but get excited! Happening September 9th – October 23, 2011 it will surely be an amazing time!
First of all, New Zealand is an amazing place to visit – any time of the year. Second, not only will you be amongst Kiwis, but all kinds of world travelers and rugby fans! This year, about 20 rugby teams ranging from the USA to Samoa will be competing for the Webb Ellis Trophy (that’s what the World Cup trophy is called!).
So, to bring the world a little closer – we decided to compile a list of fun facts about the different countries competing in this year’s games. You can see the article here on New Zealand – Yahoo! Travel.
When I was in New Zealand, a friend asked me to toss her Jandals… I was completely confused until I understood she meant sandals! (or flip-flops). I love learning local language, it makes the traveling experience a lot more interesting!
In your travels – what interesting cultural facts have you learned?
Cheers!
Savannah
